KEF Infrastructure India, a wholly-owned subsidiary by KEF Holdings, has invested over Rs 650 crore (USD 100 million) in KEF Infra One Industrial Park in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu.
The offsite manufacturing facility is spread over 42 acre and will produce pre-cast concrete structures, modular rooms, bathroom pods, wood joinery and glazing and stone processing solutions.
The facility at Krishnagiri has an annual production capacity of six million sq ft of constructed space. An expansion project worth Rs 130 crore is underway and will add around one million sq ft of capacity across precast, aluminium components and joinery.
The company will make an investment of around Rs 650 crore each in three more offsite manufacturing sites in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad. An investment of Rs 100 crore will also be made in a pre-cast concrete facility in Lucknow.
A large part of the funding for the expansion projects is internally generated. The company also plans to divest around 30 percent to a private equity player, and in a couple of years, go public.
The country's first prefabricated mall spread over two million sq ft is coming up in Lucknow. The malls in Hyderabad and Lucknow will take the total capacity of the company to around 11 million sq ft by 2018 end.
